Miami-Dade Parks Golf Division kicks off America’s Heroes Golf Program at county courses

Veterans Will Receive Free Week of Golf at Four Facilities

(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 
Miami-Dade Parks’ Golf Division will reach out to all veterans and active-duty military in the South Florida area in honor of Memorial Day by providing them with a free week of play, green fees and cart fees included, at four golf facilities.

The program, organized in conjunction with the Miami VA Healthcare System, is called “The America’s Heroes Golf Program” and will run Monday, May 26 through Friday, May 30, 2008 beginning at 10 a.m.

To participate, reservations are required at all four courses:

“This event kicks-off a year-long recreational golf program which will begin June 1 to assist Miami VA Health Care System with the rehabilitation of veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan by offering golf as a therapeutic and recreational activity to those who served in those campaigns,” said Jack Kardys, Director of the Miami-Dade Park and Recreation Department.
