(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- Miami-Dade Parks' Goulds Park is inviting anyone who considers themselves a chef, whether they are professional or amateurs who just cook for fun, to come out to the first annual "Taste of Goulds," an all-day food festival on Saturday, May 22, from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m., at Goulds Park, 11350 SW 216 Street, in Miami.
Chefs will have the opportunity to compete for the best entrée within the categories of best chicken, best ribs, or best fish, and have the opportunity to sell their food to the public. Winners will receive a trophy.
Taste of Goulds will also be host to a mini Farmer's Market allowing produce vendors to sell fresh fruit and vegetables, and plants. There will also be opportunities for arts and crafts vendors to participate.
In addition to great food, there will be activities for children including bounce houses, live animal presentations, snow cones, cotton candy, and popcorn.
The event is free to the public. To enter the competition and sell food, the cost to have a booth is $200/vendor. To take part in the mini Farmer's Market and sell produce or plants, the cost for a booth is $100/ vendor. The cost for an arts and crafts booth is $50/vendor. Application packages are available at Goulds Park. Deadline to apply and submit payment is May 20.
