Party for the Parks at Ocean Grill Restaurant, February 26, 7:30 - 10:30 p.m.

FUNdraising & Facebook social for The Parks Foundation of Miami-Dade to feature live music by The Fire Brigade, free drinks, gourmet Ocean Grill appetizers, raffle prizes, and lots of fun


(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 
The Parks Foundation of Miami-Dade is hosting its first "Come Out for Play" FUNdraiser & Facebook Social, Saturday, February 26, 7:30-10:30 p.m. at Black Point Park's Ocean Grill Restaurant, 24775 SW 87 Avenue in Miami.

The membership drive and fundraising event will feature great live music by The Fire Brigade, the official band for Miami-Dade Fire Rescue; dancing; raffles for great prizes; free drinks from 7:30-9 p.m.; and gourmet appetizers provided by the renowned Ocean Grill restaurant. The cost to attend is a donation of $25, which includes all of the aforementioned activities, and is free for Parks Foundation members. All proceeds will benefit the Parks Foundation of Miami-Dade.

The Parks Foundation of Miami-Dade is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization supporting the Miami-Dade Park & Recreation Department's effort to further develop Miami-Dade County's world-class parks system for residents and visitors. Its mission is to create a healthier, more livable and sustainable Miami community by ensuring the implementation of the Parks Open Space Master Plan and the development of year-round park and recreation programs for local children, adults and people with disabilities.

Monies raised through membership and fundraising efforts help fund: scholarships for disadvantaged children to attend after-school and summer camp programs; recreational and community programs, such as disability services; health and wellness initiatives for people of all ages, from the very young to senior citizens; and Parks Open Space Master Plan initiatives, such as the development of trailways, bikeways and safe access to parks and open spaces.
