Areas of Olinda Park Temporarily Restricted from Public Access During Studies and Remediation of Subsurface Contamination

(Miami-Dade County, FL) --
The Miami-Dade Park & Recreation Department is temporarily restricting public access to specific areas of Olinda Park, located at 2101 NW 51st Street in Miami, as a precautionary measure during studies and remediation of higher than normal findings of subsurface arsenic and lead.

The Department of Environmental Resources Management (DERM) conducted the sampling and has secured a private environmental contractor to begin cleanup efforts on the week of April 25th. The park areas will remain closed until further notice.
