Guided Full Moon Paddle Boarding and Kayaking With Miami-Dade Parks Ecoadventures and Adventure Sports Miami


(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 
Explore the Matheson Hammock Mangrove Trails at night with Miami-Dade Parks EcoAdventures and Adventure Sports Miami! The guided full moon paddle boarding and kayaking excursion will take place on Saturday, October 8th at Matheson Hammock Park, located at 9610 Old Cutler Road. There will be a meet and greet at 5:45 pm; with the first excursion from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm (for kayakers) and the second excursion from 6:30 pm
to 8:30 pm (for paddle boarders).

Immerse yourself in the remarkable beauty of Biscayne Bay and travel with a naturalist-guide through mangroves, the world's only salt water trees, and discover a world filled with Brown Pelicans, Osprey, Great Blue Herons, and more! The excursion will start from the concession at Matheson Hammock Park, heading toward the marina and paddling all the way to the end of the canal where the mangrove trail begins. After navigating through the mangrove trail, the group will paddle back to the concession for a group photo. This is one adventure that you will never forget!

If you are renting a paddle board or kayak from Adventure Sports Miami - the cost is $50 which includes: paddle board or kayak rental plus a guided tour provided by Miami-Dade Parks EcoAdventures, glow sticks, and refreshments served at the end of the trip. There are a limited number of boards and kayaks available. Please make reservations and pay in advance!

If you are bringing your own board or kayak - the cost is $20 which includes a guided tour provided by Miami-Dade Parks EcoAdventures, glow sticks, and refreshments served at the end of the trip.

All participants should consider bringing the following: flashlights, glow sticks, head lights, anything that glows in the dark, bug spray, water & snacks, and a waterproof bag for your cell phone. Please wear comfortable clothes, bathing suits, long sleeve Lycra, board shorts, etc. In order to participate, you must know how to swim.
