The Deering Estate at Cutler Presents the 2011-2012 ''Living Artist Concert Series''


(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 
For music enthusiasts, the Deering Estate Chamber Ensemble presents superb concerts intimately set in the historic Stone House Ballroom. Internationally acclaimed musicians collaborate with world-renowned guest composers, artists, and talented youth performers as part of the Deering Estate at Cutler's "Living Artist Concert Series."

The 2011-2012 Living Artist Concert Series kicks-off on Sunday, October 23rd, with "Sonic, Solar Waves" featuring the work of Franz Liszt, Clara Schumann, Joachim Raff, Fanny Mendelssohn and Ferdinand Hiller.

Italian Guest Mezzo-Soprano Victoria Schneider Malipiero, featuring works by Franz Schubert, L.V. Beethoven, Robert Schumann, Ricardo Malipiero

Sunday, January 22, 2012 "Winds, Seeds and Birds"
Guest clarinetist Margaret Donaghue and bassoonist Luciano Magnanini. featuring works by Rebecca Clarke, Mikhail Glinka, Fanny Mendelssohn and Johannes Brahms

Friday, February 17, 2012 "Rainbow of Composers"
Miami-based composers, U.M.'s Lansing McCloskey and FIU's Orlando Garcia,  with works by Frederick Delius, Joaquin Turina, Roberto Sierra, Ernno von Dohnanyi

Friday, March 16, 2012 "Ecofeminism"
Guest composer Victoria Bond with works by Josepha Auernhammer, Mana-Zucca, and Fanny Mendelssohn

Sunday, April 22, 2012 "Sounding Biscayne Bay"
Featuring composer and sound artist Judith Shatin, along with works by Louise Farrenc, and Felix Mendelssohn, and the unveiling of an  interactive installation featuring sounds of Biscayne Bay

A meet-the-artist reception is held at 6:30 pm prior to the concert. The concerts begin at 7:15 pm. Sunday concerts will feature a Musical Kids Zone with hands-on activities for children ages 4-8, one hour prior to the concerts.

TICKETS: $25 per concert; Student $12 per concert (Grades K-12 with Student I.D.); Season subscriptions are $120 (includes all 6 concerts)! Tickets can be purchased online or by calling the Deering Estate Ticket Office at 305-235-1668 x 233.
