(Miami-Dade County, FL) --
Dog lovers are invited to come out and celebrate our four-legged friends at Pet Supermarket and Miami-Dade Parks' Bark-A-Pawlooza, Saturday, November 5, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m., at West Kendall District Dog Park, 11255 SW 157 Ave., in Miami.  The first 50 guests will receive a gift bag, courtesy of Pet Supermarket.

The free event will feature lots of great activities for dogs and their owners.  Activities include a "Best Dressed" contest for a chance to win a $100 gift certificate from Pet Supermarket; a "Best Tricks" contest and an "Agility" contest, conducted by recognized dog training experts Canine Counselors, each for a chance to win a $100 gift certificate from Canine Counselors.  Canine Counselors will also provide obedience training demonstrations for pet owners who want to learn how best to communicate with their dog.

Photo opportunities for dogs and their owners by professional Miami photographer Robert Sullivan will be available for a beautiful portrait just in time for the holidays.  A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the photos will benefit the Parks Foundation of Miami-Dade. The family friendly event will also feature a bounce house for kids, food trucks, and pet supplies and information booths.

Don't own a dog and would like one? The Miami-Dade Animal Services Department will be on-site with several adorable pooches available for pet adoptions.

Pet Supermarket is the department's Premier Partner of Miami-Dade Dog Parks and has hosted several events throughout the year at all five county dog parks, providing dog and park patrons an enhanced Dog Park experience.

The 6.5-acre West Kendall District dog park is divided into two areas, one for larger dogs weighing over 35 pounds and one for smaller dogs weighing less than 35 pounds. Both areas feature dog play equipment for fun and exercise, such as tire jumps, a paws table, and others. There are dog comfort stations with doggy drinking fountains and water sprays, and pooper scoopers to keep the areas clean, and a fabric shade canopy. Also at this site is an information kiosk, park benches, picnic areas, a public restroom facility and parking. A walkway connects all areas of the dog park and makes it ADA accessible.
