Spooky Halloween Fun Abounds at Miami-Dade County Parks


(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 
From trick-or-treating and pumpkin decorating to spooky ghost tours, there's no better place to celebrate Halloween than with your family and friends at Miami-Dade County Parks. These are some of the festivities to stir up that Halloween spirit.

Now through October 31, 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. 
Dr. Wilde's Creepy House at Zoo Miami
A 7,000 square-foot haunted house guaranteed to send chills up and down your spine when it debuts. We will make your every fear come to life!  Roaches take over the kitchen while cats take over a cadaver's home.  What will you find when the freezer defrosts - a zookeeper or two perhaps?  You'll have to come and see for yourself!  With an admission cost of $5/person, this house of chills will remain open through October 31.  Parental discretion is advised for young children. The Monster Masquerade at Zoo Miami
Get your Halloween costume ready and come dance the night away at the darkest night spot around town… Zoo Miami!   Costumed monsters ages 21 and over are invited to the biggest Halloween party in South Florida, The Monster Masquerade.  Come where the wild things are and party in the dark while enjoying premium cocktails at our open bars, savory treats, music, dancing, and entry into Dr. Wilde's Creepy House!  At the end of the night, we'll announce the "Best Costume Contest" that will have you dying for awesome prizes, such as weekend getaways and hotel stays, restaurant gift certificates, and much more. When night falls and the wild calls, The Monster Masquerade at Zoo Miami will be the only place to be. Your ticket purchase will support the Zoological Society of Florida (ZSF) in its mission of wildlife education and conservation. Ghost Tour "Be Your Own Investigator" at the Deering Estate at Cutler
Investigate paranormal hot spots within the Estate on a tour with the League of Paranormal Investigators. Guests are encouraged to dress comfortably and bring along a flashlight, mosquito repellant, a camera and their favorite ghost detecting equipment.  The tour may contain mature subject matter. Teen Fright Night at Zoo Miami
Food trucks and a haunted house! Don't miss out! One night only-Thursday, October 27.  The cost is $5 per person. Teen Fright Night will include food trucks, DJs and a scary haunted house. Love food trucks? We got 'em! While you enjoy a great meal from the food trucks your teens can walk through the haunted house and enjoy the DJs. "Spookover" at the Deering Estate at Cutler
Experience the Deering Estate at Cutler overnight when the LIGHTS ARE OUT!!! The League of Paranormal Investigators will take guests on a Paranormal Investigation of the historic houses and main grounds. Guests are encouraged to dress comfortably and bring along a flashlight, mosquito repellant, a camera and their favorite ghost detecting equipment. Halloween attire is welcome, but not required. This is not a sleepover - there will be activities and investigations all night long.  A light breakfast will be served. The tour may contain mature subject matter.  The cost is $65 per person. 'Spooktacular' at Westwind Lakes Park
Kids are invited to wear their Halloween costume and join in the free Halloween festivities.  The event includes a Halloween costume contest with prizes and giveaways; Trick-or-Treat goodie bags provided by Sugars Skate Shop, a pumpkin carving activity (with 50 free pumpkins for the first 50 kids) and Kung Fu demonstrations and candy giveaways courtesy of Golden Dragons Academy.  Guests will also receive information about Miami-Dade County Parks' Park Watch program, which seeks to engage residents in its efforts to help keep neighborhood parks safe. Spooky Zoo Nights at Zoo Miami

The $10.95/person admission ($9.95 for Zoo members) includes entry into Dr. Wilde's Creepy House, spooky tram rides, ghoulish carousel rides, and chilling story-telling around a fire pit. Ghost Tours at Arch Creek Park
Have a ghostly encounter this Halloween at Arch Creek Park - one of Miami's best-kept secrets! This naturalist guided tour takes you on a journey through the park's history, detailing ghost sightings that date back to the late 1800's. 'Light the Night' at Deerwood-Bonita Lakes Park
A free family event with candy, games, rides, bounce houses and musical entertainment. Trick-or-Treating at Bird Lakes Park
