''Kite-Flying Food Truck Nights on the Bay'' November 25th at Miami-Dade Parks' Haulover Park

(Miami-Dade County, FL) --
The day after the Thanksgiving Day feast is a good time to de-stress, get out of the house for some fresh air, and dine on something other than left-over turkey.  What better time to give yourself and your family a break, and take them out for some fun-time and good eats at Miami-Dade County Parks' monthly "Kite-Flying Food Truck Nights on the Bay," taking place from 5:30 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. on Friday, November 25, 2011, at the Bill Bird Marina at Haulover Park.  It's a family night that is easy on the wallet, offering waterfront dining with the popular gourmet food truck chefs, as well as music and kite-flying activities for the kids and young at heart.

There will be a wide variety of delicious treats available for purchase, including Italian sausage with peppers, cheesy baked ziti, chicken avocado salad arepas, Greek-style fries with feta cheese, spicy Korean pork sliders,  overstuffed Venezuelan beef empanadas, shaved ice fruit sundaes, S'mores Nutella melts on sweet brioche, and hot and cold lattes. Participating food truck chefs include Chef On 4-Wheels, Purple People Eatery, The Real Chill, Arepa Box, Porkalicous, Dolce Gourmet Cupcake, Taco Fresh, Top Fries, Cucina Al Mare, Daddys Grill, Nacho Bizness, LosChamos, MacNCheese, Steak Gourmet, and MyCoffee Brake.

Skyward Kites, the Park's resident kite shop will remain open for the event, selling kites of all shapes and sizes, some for as little as $5, so families can enjoy a little kite flying with their kids. Master kite flyers will also have their colorful giant kites and stunt kites out for the occasion.

Visitors can arrive at the Bill Bird Marina at Haulover Park, located at 10800 Collins Ave., by either car or boat. Parking is free at the Park's kite field.  Boat dockage will also be free for this event. Patrons are encouraged to bring along a blanket or some lawn chairs to better enjoy the festivities.

The Marina's next "Kite-Flying Food Truck Nights on the Bay" is scheduled for December 30, as the event takes place on the last Friday of each month. For directions to the event and further information about activities at Haulover Park, visit Miami-Dade Parks or call 305-947-3525.
