(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- In partnership with the Archaeological Society of Southern Florida, the Deering Estate at Cutler presents a free lecture on the 2nd Thursday of each month. The next lecture is scheduled for Thursday, October 11th at 7:00 pm in the Visitor Center Auditorium at the Deering Estate at Cutler located at 16701 SW 72 Avenue. The lectures are free and open to the public.

Presenter: Professor Mario Ferrante
Professor Mario Ferrante will present an itinerary through the past of the ancient Greek, as well as, the present architecture of the Greek Islands of the Mediterranean Basin. Professor Ferrante has captured the exotic and romantic beauty of this area on slides. This unforgettable journey of history and culture will include the islands of Aegina, Hydra, Mykonos, Delos, Santorini, Crete and Rhodes.
For over 30 years Mario Ferrante has been studying, writing and lecturing on the cultural, anthropological and archaeological life styles, as well as the art and architecture of ancient, modern and primitive societies.

The Deering Estate at Cutler, a Miami-Dade County Park, is located at 16701 SW 72 Avenue in Miami. This 444-acre natural and archeological preserve and historic site is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and serves as a center for education, culture and recreation.
