Miami-Dade County Parks Announces: Baptist Health South Florida's 10k/5k Turkey Trot Presented By Publix at Tropical Park on Thanksgiving Day


(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 
Miami-Dade County Parks invites families to participate in the Baptist Health South Florida's Turkey Trot presented by Publix at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 22, 2012 (Thanksgiving Day) at Tropical Park, 7900 SW 40 St., Miami.  Adults and children ages 2 and up are encouraged to run or walk in this fun and health-minded family event. Advance registration is suggested.  To register for the race visit  Miami Turkey Trot.

Who/What: Baptist Health South Florida's 10K/5K Turkey Trot presented by Publix

When: Thanksgiving Day - Thursday, November 22, 2012

  • 10K/5K Adult Races start at 7:30 AM
  • Kids Trot (Ages 2-9) starts at 9 AM

Donate Food: Rub-a-dub-dub thanks for the grub! This Thanksgiving holiday help those in need by bringing canned goods to our food drive on race day. Baptist Health South Florida's Turkey Trot presented by Publix will be giving all food donations to those in need for their Thanksgiving meal.
 
Race t-shirt: Registered race participants will receive a commemorative Turkey Trot tech t-shirt.

Family Discount: Family's that register four or more members in the same Active.com shopping cart will receive $10 off their total registration fee.

5K Pricing: $25

10K Pricing: $30
Kids' Trot (Ages 2-9): $10
All registered children will receive a child's size tech t-shirt and a finisher medal.

Children age two (2) through nine (9) are welcome to participate in the kid's run. Races will be run in the following order with the following distances:
  • 2-3 years - 100 Meters
  • 4-5 years - 200 Meters
  • 6-7 years - 400 Meters
  • 8-9 years - 600 Meters

Packet Pick-Up:
Packets will be made available at Sports Authority Dadeland Station (8364 S. Dixie Hwy, 33143):

  • Saturday, November 17 & Sunday, November 18, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
  • Monday, November 19 & Tuesday, November 20 , 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
  • Wednesday, November 21, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
