Support Your Local Parks System and Donate To the Parks Foundation of Miami-Dade on 12/12/12 at Givemiamiday.Org

The Miami Foundation will match a percentage of all donations made through this 24-hour online giving event
Help an underserved child attend an after-school, summer camp, or learn-to-swim program

(Miami-Dade County, FL) --
Beginning tonight at midnight through midnight December 13, 2012, donate to The Parks Foundation of Miami-Dade at GiveMiamiDay.org and The Miami Foundation will match a percentage of your donation to The Parks Foundation of Miami-Dade, during its 24-hour online giving event.

Your $25-minimum, tax-deductible donation to the Parks Foundation through GiveMiamiDay.org will help an underserved child attend an after-school, summer camp, or learn-to-swim program at a Miami-Dade County park and will help the Parks Foundation reach its $100,000 annual fundraising goal.  Donors can also maximize their donation to The Parks Foundation, by giving at strategically-selected times on GiveMiamiDay.org.  For more information on how to maximize your donation, please visit the site.

"December is a time when companies and individuals scramble to make their tax-deductible contributions before the end of the year.  This is a perfect venue to maximize your contribution and help even more children receive the opportunity to attend a park program," said Dick Anderson, President of The Parks Foundation of Miami-Dade.  "We want to thank The Miami Foundation, The Knight Foundation and all their contributing partners that are helping non-profits such as ours make an impact in this community."

"Thanks to the support from The Parks Foundation of Miami-Dade, Miami-Dade Parks is able to provide children from low-income families with the opportunity to attend after-school, summer camp and learn-to-swim programs at a discount or at no cost. Your contribution to The Parks Foundation through GiveMiamiDay.org will go even farther and help more children attend these programs, keeping them safe and healthy year round," said Jack Kardys, Director of Miami-Dade Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department.

Give Miami Day is a unique, online giving event by The Miami Foundation that allows individuals in the community an opportunity to build a greater Miami by making a charitable gift to a local nonprofit.   The Miami Foundation and its partners have committed an initial monetary pool as incentive dollars to match contributions received during Give Miami Day.

All donations must be made on December 12, 2012, via debit or credit card only at GiveMiamiDay.org.  Minimum donations made to the selected non-profit must be $25 in order for The Miami Foundation to make a percentage match.  There is no maximum limit per gift, or per charity.  Give Miami Day is a program of The Miami Foundation. Your donation receipt will state The Miami Foundation but your donation will be made to your selected non-profit.
