Deering Estate Festival of the Arts: Red Carpet Wrap-Up Hosted by Guest Curators ''Teddy Behr'' (David Rohn) & ''Adora'' (Danilo De La Torre)

The Deering Estate Festival of the Arts closes with the smashing Red Carpet Wrap-Up event on Sunday, February 24th, where a blend of broadcast and live entertainment will be hosted by guest curators Teddy Behr (David Rohn) and Adora (Danilo de la Torre). With real-time feed from the Kodak Theater in LA, the actual Oscar Ceremony and red carpet will be broadcast and projected on large screens, while Teddy and Adora offer erudite commentary on the fashion choices, questionable results and all manners of madness surrounding Hollywood-s most glamorous event. The event begins at 6:30 pm with a red carpet performance at 7:15 pm.

Adding to the dazzling evening is the Estate's very own red carpet, staged on the historic main
entrance. Guests are encouraged to dress up, whether as historic Hollywood actors or one's own version of red carpet attire. Be forewarned, a shoe cam will not miss a step!

The hosts bring a special panache to the night. De la Torre, who was trained in classical ballet, has worked in musical theater and cabaret. The creation of the character ''Adora'' has earned her the undisputed title ''Queen of South Beach.'' With bouffant wigs and extraordinary make up, ''Adora'' engages audiences as she shifts musical genres - from Latin to pop to rock. In 2008, de la Torre teamed up with performance artist David Rohn to form ''Homo-Sapiens'' (Art for Evolution) and together performed at the Miami Beach Cinematheque and The Wolfsonian. Rohn, a native New Yorker, studied architecture in Paris and stayed on as a painter and sculptor. He moved to Miami in 1992 and now focuses on painting, installation work, photography and performance art.

Tickets for the Red Carpet Wrap Up are $15. A cash bar will be available. For more information on the Deering Estate Festival of the Arts and to purchase tickets, please call the Deering Estate Ticket Office at 305-235-1668 x 233 or visit www.deeringestate.org.
