About Bike305:
Bike305 is a collaborative effort forged by Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez in partnership with six municipal mayors and parks departments from Coral Gables, Cutler Bay, Key Biscayne, Miami, Palmetto Bay, and Pinecrest to unite and support the connectivity of people and places through the county's bike trails.  The mayors are promoting the opportunity to achieve physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle by cycling to parks, attractions, shops, and events located on or near bike trails. This is another great example of how the Miami-Dade County Parks and Open Space Master Plan continues to make strides in developing a more livable, healthy and sustainable Miami-Dade community.  AvMed Health Plans is the premier partner of the Bike305 initiative as part of its ongoing partnership with Miami-Dade County to improve community wellness. Residents and visitors will be able to learn more information and plan an outing through a "Storybook" webpage and digital mapping tool created by the Miami-Dade County Information Technology Department for the collaborative initiative.  Visit www.Bike305.com for more information about Bike305, including a calendar of events, trail maps, special offers, and instructions on downloading the Bike305 SCVNGR App designed to challenge riders and reward them with additional discounts and giveaways.    In support of this initiative, the Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners has proclaimed the month of March 2013, and every March hereafter, as "Bike305 Month."
