Join Magic 102.7, the Parks Foundation of Miami-Dade, and Miami-Dade Parks at the 10th Annual Love-In Party in the Park, Sunday, May 5, 2013, 11:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. at Greynolds Park, 18500 NE 22nd Avenue, North Miami Beach, FL.  Love-In Party in the Park celebrates 10 years of the famed Greynolds Love-In, a 1960s-themed event which began for the 75th anniversary of the Miami-Dade County Parks system, bringing legendary national bands to perform at the park year after year since its inception.  Presented by Catholic Health Services and Firehouse Subs, the new Love-In Party in the Park will celebrate the era of the 60s, 70s and 80s with a full day of live concerts and fun for all generations.

Headlining the birthday bash will be Grand Funk Railroad, best known for their mega-hits We're an American Band, I'm Your Captain/Closer to Home, Locomotion, and Some Kind of Wonderful, and Mike Pinera's Blues Image, one of the first bands ever to play at Greynolds Park back in 1968 and making a return this year for this special event, performing some of the greatest classic rock hits of the 60's and 70s, including their number one hit Ride Captain Ride.  Also performing will be popular local bands Blackstar and The Swinging Richards rounding out a full day of live performances.

The fun continues with event-goers participating in the event's first-ever videotaping of the Harlem Shake on the Mound, led by Magic's very own Mindy Lang.  Folks can also enter the 60s, 70s and 80s costume contest where Madonna look-alikes or disco queens can strut their stuff alongside bell bottoms and tie-dyed outfits, peruse vintage cars on display, or chill out at the Island Squeeze-sponsored Tiki Zone with margaritas, daiquiris and piña coladas celebrating Cinco de Mayo in style.

Other event features include a special VIP staging area; hula hoop contest; numerous arts & crafts, jewelry and food vendors; and an expanded kids zone where children can take part in various activities including arts & crafts projects, tie-dying, wood works sponsored by Home Depot, face painting, hair braiding, bounce houses, and lots more.

"This event first began as a one-time-only special event to celebrate Miami-Dade Parks' 75th anniversary.  I'm so excited to see that 10 years later, with the help of Magic 102.7 and our loyal sponsors, the event is still going strong and becoming one of South Florida's most anticipated annual events," said Jack Kardys, Director of Miami-Dade Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department.  "We're glad to be able to bring affordable, quality family-friendly events such as this to the residents of Miami-Dade County," he added.

"Wow, 10 years of family fun in the sun with the Love In Party in the Park. This event is so important to everyone at Magic 102.7 and our sponsors Catholic Health Services, Firehouse Subs and Army Navy Outdoor because it brings together 8,000 people to one of South Florida's most beautiful parks," said Von Freeman, Director of Marketing for Magic 102.7.  "We promote concerts every day on Magic and we know it's extremely rare to see two huge national recording acts like Grand Funk Railroad and Mike Pinera's Blues Image on one stage, in one day for such a low ticket price. Simply Awesome.  See you there!"
