Miami-Dade County Parks Hosting a Free Health & Wellness Fair For Active Adults 55+ at Arcola Lakes Park
The Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department together with local health care providers will host a free Health and Wellness Fair for residents age 55 and over on Monday, October 28, 2013, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at Arcola Lakes Park Community Center, 1301 NW 83 Street, Miami, FL 33150.
Activities will include:
- On-Site Health Screenings (BMI/Blood Pressure Checks)
- Fun and Energizing Exercise Demonstrations
- Healthy Aging Resource Exhibits/Presentations
Resource materials will be available on a variety of health-related topics such as nutrition, fitness, home health care, personal safety, and Medicare.
Visitors will have an opportunity to register on-site for Miami-Dade County Parks’ free ongoing Active Adults 55+ Self-Management Activities and Classes, including the Active Adults 55+ Walking Club.
Miami-Dade County Parks’ Active Adults 55+ Program is designed to help older adults improve their well-being by consistently staying physically active. The program is currently offered at 14 Miami-Dade County park locations.
