Wild Morning Mile presented by AVMED at Zoo Miami kicks off Miami-Dade Parks' Fit2play Summer Camp Morning Mile Program


(MIAMI, June 11, 2014) — Miami-Dade Parks’ Morning Mile® program kicks off Saturday, June 14, at 7:30 a.m. with “Wild Morning Mile” presented by AvMed at Zoo Miami, a one-mile scenic walk through the zoo.  Former Miami Heat star Tim Hardaway and former Miami Dolphins perfect season team member Dick Anderson will lead the walkers in the Morning Mile and each participant will receive a chain and collectible “paw print” charm upon completion of the course.

WHAT: Wild Morning Mile is open to Miami-Dade Parks’ Fit2Play registered summer campers and Miami-Dade County employees who pre-register. Participants can stay afterwards and enjoy the zoo.  Cost is $5/person.

Created by Fitzness International LLC, the Morning Mile® program provides participating schools or parks with a program guidebook and everything needed to bring the exercise program to their students. The program has been so successful with over 160 programs in Florida, Texas, California, Louisiana, Missouri, Canada and on a US Air Force Base near Tokyo, Japan, that venues around the United States and beyond have applied to participate so they can implement the program as well.
