Celebrate the Fall Harvest at Deering Harvester Day


(MIAMI, September 23, 2014) – Celebrate the fall harvest on Sunday, October 19, 2014, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the Deering Estate at Cutler. Guests can enjoy old fashion family activities such as bocce ball and croquet, family photos next to the vintage International Harvester Truck, historic house tours at 10:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., and a natural areas tour at 12:30 p.m. Children can also create corn husk dolls, a traditional harvest craft made out of the dried leaves or "husk" of a corn cob. About the Deering Estate at Cutler
The Deering Estate at Cutler, a Miami-Dade County Park, is located at 16701 SW 72 Avenue in Miami. This 444-acre natural and archeological preserve and historic site is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and serves as a center for education, culture and recreation. Historic house tours are offered daily at 10:30 am & 3:00 pm and a Natural Areas Tour is offered daily at 12:30 pm (October – May). Both the Historic House Tour and the Natural Areas Tour are Free with regular admission to the Estate. DeeringAdventure Tours are also offered throughout the year for an additional fee.
