Calusa Park Tennis Courts to Undergo Renovation

(MIAMI, December 1, 2014) - The four tennis courts at Calusa Park, located at 6702 Crandon Boulevard in the Village of Key Biscayne, are set to close on Monday, December 15, 2014, to undergo a $60,000 renovation project that will bring the courts to professional tournament grade. IPC, organizer for the “Miami Open” tennis tournament at the neighboring Crandon Park Tennis Center, will fund and oversee the project with no cost to taxpayers. The estimated duration of the closure is six to eight weeks.

As part of the renovations, the Calusa Park tennis courts will be resurfaced and painted in the footprints of the Crandon Park Tennis Center courts. With the same contrasting color scheme: “medium green” and “bougainvillea purple” for out-of-bounds and in-bounds areas, and “white” court lines.

The Calusa Park facility, part of Crandon Park, is used by the Village of Key Biscayne under a shared-use agreement with Miami-Dade County.

For more information on the restoration project, the public can call the Village of Key Biscayne at (305) 365-8900.
