Free Playwright Reading at the Deering Estate at Cutler


(MIAMI, January 12, 2015) - Lost Girls Theatre Company, Co-Artistic Directors Andie Arthur and Katherine Siegel, present “Daughters of the Moon” by Reginald Edmund at the Deering Estate at Cutler on Monday, February 9, 2014 at 8:00 pm. The event is part of the “Getting Lost Reading Series,” free to the public readings where new and experimental plays are explored through practice and audience talkbacks. Please note that the playwright readings may contain mature subject matter.

“Daughters of the Moon” by Reginald Edmund:
The first play in Reginald Edmund's “City of the Bayou” Collection, “Daughters of the Moon” follows a runaway slave girl and a former plantation mistress wanted for murder as they embark on a perilous journey North towards freedom, guided by an Ancient African Goddess.

About the Deering Estate at Cutler
The Deering Estate at Cutler, a Miami-Dade County Park, is located at 16701 SW 72 Avenue in Miami. This 444-acre natural and archeological preserve and historic site is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and serves as a center for education, culture and recreation. Historic house tours are offered daily at 10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Natural areas tours are offered daily at 12:30 p.m. (October – May).
