Tropical Park voted among "Top 100 Family Fishing & Boating Spots in America"

(MIAMI, June 5, 2015) — The Miami-Dade Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department is proud to announce that Tropical Park has been recognized among the “Top 100 Family Fishing and Boating Spots in America.”

The award is the result of nationwide public voting in the “2015 America’s Top Family Fishing and Boating Spots Sweepstakes” conducted by the Recreational Boating and Fishing Foundation’s (RBFF) Take Me Fishing™ campaign in March. More than 23,000 outdoor enthusiasts voted in the sweepstakes.

The release of Take Me Fishing's Top 100 list was timed to kick off the National Fishing and Boating Week, which takes place June 6-14.

This year’s sweepstakes initiative provided families and outdoor enthusiasts with a recommended list of 276-pre-selected family-friendly parks across the U.S., to experience the joys of boating and fishing as the weather warms up around the country.

Criteria for the top places to fish and boat included having a public body of water within an hour of a major city with good fishing opportunities and family-friendly amenities.
