| If you like the freedom of outdoor exercising - - jogging and stretching your muscles - - then the Department's vita courses and fitness courts are ideal for you.
Vita courses are set up along running paths in thirteen parks, from Crandon Park on Key Biscayne to Larry and Penny Thompson Campground in south Miami-Miami-Dade County. The vita courses have between 12 and 20 stops, where signs explain the kind of exercise you may do with that particular piece of equipment.
Two of our parks, Miami Lakes West and South Dade Park, have fitness courts which are actually adult playgrounds, with all the exercise equipment and their explanatory signs clustered in one compact area. Using either the vita courses or the fitness courts, we're sure you'll enjoy your workout, even if you don't make all the stops!
Miami-Dade Parks welcomes children and adults with disabilities in its fitness courts and vita courses. If you need accommodation to participate, call 305-365-3128, 305-365-6705 (TDD).
