Track & Field

Since 1969, Miami-Dade Parks has offered young athletes a complete track and field program.

Each year, about 1,500 girls and boys ages 6-17 participate in track and field which includes sprints, relays, hurdles, race walking, long jumps, high jumps, discus, javelin and shot put. The program is free and is available at 32 parks throughout Miami-Dade County.

The athletes test their skills in meets among the 32 parks and in region competitions with other track clubs from Broward and Palm Beach counties. The top 150 athletes from Miami-Dade Parks' general program are invited to join the Metro-Dade Track Club, competing in state and national meets, including the USATF Youth Athletics Championships and the USATF National Junior Olympics.

Miami-Dade Parks welcomes children and adults with disabilities in its Track and Field activities. If you need accommodation to participate, call 305-735-7847 (V/TDD).
