Volunteer Opportunities at Parks

Welcome to the Miami-Dade Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department.

As a volunteer, you are joining the Parks Department during a very exciting time as we expand our capital improvements over the next 20 years, continue to highlight our existing recreation programs, and showcase our outstanding attractions such as Miami Metrozoo, Deering Estate at Cutler, Fruit & Spice Park, and many others.

Our department touches approximately 25 million people a year who use our parks, attend our events, and participate in our programs.  Whether you assist in running an after-school program or a golf course, lead tours at your preferred facility or assist a park office with administrative paperwork, you play a critical role in the success of the department.

The Parks Department is a three-time winner of the National Gold Medal for excellence in park administration, making us a proven leader in our field.  We continue to be awarded the National Accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Park Agencies and have much to be proud of.

As our patrons visit our facilities throughout the year, our expectation is to provide them with outstanding service and create for them a positive and memorable experience so they visit us again and again.  One of our greatest assets is our dedicated and friendly volunteers.  Through each of you, along with our staff, we can achieve great things for our community and its residents.
