| Minimum Qualifications | |
| Bachelor's degree in Marketing. Additional experience in the transportation industry may substitute for required education on a year-for-year basis. Applicants qualifying for employment with the Miami-Dade Seaport Department will be subject to extensive security screening, including but not limited to fingerprint checks, employment verification, and other such procedures as may be mandated by federal, state, or local requirements. | NATURE OF WORK
This is administrative work assisting in a seaport marketing program. An employee in this class is responsible for performing a variety of duties in support of a marketing program for the Port of Miami. Responsibilities include conducting market research projects, collecting and analyzing international trade data, planning and preparing project budgets, analyzing financial and administrative procedures to improve efficiency, and preparing various narrative and statistical reports. The incumbent exercises some independent judgment in the conduct of various marketing projects and activities. Supervision is received from an administrative superior who reviews work through personal conferences and written reports for effective assistance in development of the seaport marketing program.
ILLUSTRATIVE TASKS
Conducts market research in support of a seaport marketing program including the collection and analysis of various international trade data using electronic databases, journals, trade shows and various trade publications. Assists in planning and preparing divisional and marketing project budgets; ensures adherence to budget procedures and guidelines; reviews completed budget documents for format, accuracy and computations; monitors budget forecasts and expenditures for divisional activities and marketing projects; prepares periodic budget reports. Analyzes financial, procurement and administrative procedures for simplification and improvement in efficiency; analyzes purchase orders and checks requisitions for completeness and accuracy. Conducts research, procedural or administrative studies and prepares narrative and statistical reports; reviews workload reports and audits program records. Performs related work as required.
