Team Metro Regional Coordinator
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree. A minimum of three to six years of professional experience in the delivery of citizen outreach services or investigation or enforcement of municipal ordinances to include supervisory experience is required.

NATURE OF WORK

This is advanced professional and supervisory work in citizens assistance and outreach for Metro-Dade County.

Employees in this class are responsible for the supervision and management of a Team Metro regional center. Responsibilities include supervising subordinates engaged in providing information to the public and local agencies, investigating requests for assistance from citizens or community organizations, and investigating and enforcing a variety of Metro-Dade County Code regulations. Duties include developing solutions to individual or community problems, attending various meetings with community groups or citizens, and preparing a variety of reports and publications. The incumbent exercises considerable independent judgment in the management of regional center operations to provide effective assistance to the citizens of Dade County. Supervision is exercised over a staff of supervisory and staff employees through observations, personal conferences and written reports. General supervision is received from an administrative superior who holds the incumbent responsible for the professional management of regional center activities and achievement of desired goals and objectives.

ILLUSTRATIVE TASKS

Plans, assigns and reviews the work of subordinate supervisors and staff employees of Team Metro regional center engaged in evaluating and responding to requests for information and assistance from citizens and representatives of other public and private agencies; delivery of outreach programs, information and referral services; and investigating and enforcing a variety of Metro-Dade County Code regulations; provides direction to subordinates in addressing complex requests for assistance.

Provides direct outreach to community and homeowner associations, service groups, professional organizations and multiple-governmental entities to inform them about the Team Metro concept.

Reviews complex complaints with citizens or local organizations; meets with other County departments and non-county agencies to coordinate service delivery programs; analyzes public policy gaps and proposes new directions and action plans to produce effective service delivery enhancements.

Monitors regional office budget; reviews and approves expenditures.

Develops standard operating procedures for regional office operations and provides training to office staff.

Completes activity reports and reports detailing inspection statistics; develops and contributes to quarterly newsletters and other publications as required; drafts responses to correspondence.

Makes recommendations regarding hiring, discipline and promotion of subordinates; authorizes leave and overtime; evaluates and rates employee performance.

Performs related work as required.

KNOWLEDGES, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS

Thorough knowledge of public relations principles and techniques.

Thorough knowledge of County Codes, administrative orders and departmental policies and procedures applicable to Team Metro regional center operations.

Considerable knowledge of the practices and procedures of modern office administration.

Considerable knowledge of supervisory principles and practices.

Considerable knowledge of the structure and functions of Metro-Dade County departments and agencies.

Considerable knowledge of the geography of metropolitan Dade County including major road networks and municipal boundaries.

Ability to supervise subordinates in a manner conducive to full performance and high morale.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with subordinates, superiors, citizens and officials of various public and private agencies.

Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing.

Ability to conduct investigative casework and make recommendations for the resolution of individual or community problems.

Ability to analyze service delivery problems and make effective recommendations to enhance to delivery of County services.

Ability to maintain records and prepare reports.
