SFWIB Marketing Specialist
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field. Two years of professional experience in journalism, advertising, marketing or public relations are required.

NATURE OF WORK

This is advanced administrative work in the coordination of marketing and promotional programs for the Miami-Dade South Florida Workforce Investment Board.

Responsibilities will include the coordinating of the regions promotions and marketing campaigns to increase positive exposure of the South Florida Workforce Investment Board services, programs, and projects. Additional duties involve assisting in the development of short and long range marketing strategies, conducting market research activities, identifying marketing and promotional opportunities as well as functioning as a liaison with other workforce counterparts in marketing, promotions, and advertising functions within the state. Incumbents exercise considerable independent judgment in the application of professional knowledge of marketing practices to market surveying and technical analysis. Supervision is received from an administrative superior who reviews work through personal conferences and written reports for attainment of marketing project goals and objectives.

ILLUSTRATIVE TASKS

Plans and implements promotional activities designed to increase positive exposure of South Florida Workforce Investment Board services, programs and projects.

Prepares, develops and implements short and long range marketing plans on South Florida Workforce Investment Board services and programs.

Coordinates marketing and promotional activities with South Florida Workforce Investment Board service partners, local businesses, educational institutions, county agencies in planning and implementing regional and local initiatives.

Develops collateral materials and other multi-media products, and internal and external newsletters.

Assists in the design and evaluation of market research studies and surveys.

Develops materials to support promotional efforts to include trade show displays, advertisements, brochures, and audio visual presentations.

Writes press releases for various events or activities; coordinates press conferences and responds to media inquiries under the direction of the Executive Director.

Prepares speeches for delivery by South Florida Workforce Investment Board officials and related duties as needed.

Performs related work as required.

KNOWLEDGES, ABILITIES AND SKILLS

Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of marketing applicable to South Florida Workforce Investment Board.

Considerable knowledge of research methods and techniques used in the collection and analysis of narrative and statistical information.

Considerable knowledge of South Florida Workforce Investment Board design characteristics and operational practices and procedures.

Considerable knowledge of public relations principles and techniques.

Ability to analyze and interpret a variety of technical data and prepare reports containing sound conclusions.

Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing.

Ability to design, develop and complete market research projects.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors and a variety of public and private officials.
