| High school. Five years of experience in the installation, repair and maintenance of high, medium and low voltage electrical equipment are required. Must possess a Miami-Dade County Master Electrician's License or a State of Florida Electrical Contractor's License. Must possess a CDL/Class B. The successful candidate must qualify to obtain Miami-Dade County electrical permits within six months following the appointment. | |

| NATURE OF WORK
This is responsible supervisory work in the installation, alteration, maintenance and repair of a wide variety of both high and low voltage electrical systems and equipment used by large water and sewage plants. An employee in this class acts as an administrative field supervisor to the head of the electrical installation and maintenance section. The incumbent is responsible for the large scale coordination of men, materials and equipment used in preventative maintenance, major overhalls, installation and general repair of a wide range of electrical systems and equipment used in lime or water and sewage treatment plants. An additional responsibility is the coordination and monitoring of the preventative maintenance program for all electrical equipment. Supervision is exercised through subordinate foremen over skilled journeymen, and helpers engaged in electrical installation and maintenance. Work is performed under the establishes work completion schedules and reviews completed projects for compliance with job specifications and engineering plans.
ILLUSTRATIVE TASKS
plans, lays out and assigns to respective foremen and journeymen, maintenance and installation projects which are developed by engineers and administrative superiors. Directs through subordinate foremen varied maintenance and repair tasks on a variety of electrical equipment used by lime or water and sewage treatment plants. Develops comprehensive preventive maintenance program; recommends repairs and improvements, estimates time, labor and materials required. Maintains records, prepares and submits reports on maintenance activities; inspects and approves supplies, assists in the selection of equipment for purchase and recommends equipment modification. Inspects maintenance and installation projects under contract; advises superiors of faulty workmanship or materials during installation or subsequent warranty periods. Confers with administrative and professional superiors regarding equipment installation, plant modification and related matters. Performs related work as required.
KNOWLEDGES, ABILITIES AND SKILLS
Thorough knowledge of the installation, maintenance and repair of a wide variety of electrical equipment employed in a large water, lime or sewage treatment plant. Thorough knowledge of preventive maintenance programs for all electrical equipment at a large plant, and the ability to establish and keep up such a maintenance schedule. Considerable knowledge of the routine methods of water or sewage treatment processes. Considerable knowledge of the tools, equipment, and materials of the electrical trades. Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to electrical maintenance activities in large plants. Ability to plan, layout, and assign the work of skilled tradesmen in a manner conducive to full performance and high morale. Ability to supervise and coordinate work projects. Ability to estimate costs in terms of labor, supplies, and equipment. Ability to keep accurate records and to prepare and submit reports. Ability to understand and assign work from plans, sketches and construction drawings.
