| NATURE OF WORK
This is para-professional landscape architectural work with emphasis upon drafting and related skills. Employees in this class prepare clear, complete and accurate working plans and detailed drawings from rough or detailed sketches or notes for varies landscape architectural purposes. Work is performed primarily using standard drafting instruments, however some work may involve use of a computer aided drafting and design system. Employees utilizes knowledge of landscape architectural practices and mathematics, and knowledge of related graphic techniques and materials. Supervision may be exercised on specific projects or as part of routine, check, verification, and review. All work is performed subject to review by technical or professional superiors.
ILLUSTRATIVE TASKS
Performs detailed drafting on landscape architectural plans; makes final sketches or proposed drawings for smaller projects checking dimensions; inks in all lines and letters on pencil drawings as required. Prepares base maps, plans, elevations and renderings of proposed minor projects from notes and other preliminary data furnished by a superior. Prepares working drawings including site plans, master plans, grading plans, planting plans, and details required for minor projects. Prepares rendered plans for minor projects using basic graphic techniques and media. Uses simple applications of a computer aided drafting and design system. Makes measurements of various facilities and prepares base drawings from data. Performs a variety of simple calculations including area and quantity computations and uses information to prepare material and plant lists. Performs related work as required.
KNOWLEDGES, ABILITIES AND SKILLS
Considerable knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of landscape architectural drafting. Knowledge of mathematics thorough trigonometry. Knowledge of general construction specifications and blueprints. Ability to make less complex landscape architectural computations quickly and accurately. Ability to prepare less complex graphic renderings of plans and maps used in presentations. Skill in the use of drafting equipment and basic graphic media.
