Real Estate Advisor
Minimum Qualifications
Miami-Dade County is seeking two experienced real estate professionals to become Real Estate Advisors to the General Services Administration (GSA) Department. This professional, commercial real estate development work requires negotiation of major residential and/or commercial transactions, planning of County's joint-development projects with the private sector and conducting long term strategic planning of the County's real estate portfolio. In addition to being supervised by the Chief, GSA Real Estate Development, all work is reviewed for compliance with County objectives and policies for achievement of desired results by the County's senior management. Miami-Dade is one of the largest county governments in the Southeastern United States with a $6.86 billion budget, 30,000 employees and 45 departments, serving a county population of more than 2.3 million residents. The General Services Administration Department is comprised of 857 employees with an annual $264 million budget. The ideal candidate is an experienced real estate professional with extensive experience in complex real estate development transactions, to include joint development projects involving community development corporations, not-for-profit agencies, and/or for-profit entities; capital facilities development projects involving built-to-suit, sale/leaseback and leveraged lease transactions; sale, lease or lease/purchase of County property; exchanges of County land and/or buildings for privately-owned real estate. The candidate is expected to have significant budget, financial and legal experience in preparing and negotiating complex real estate documents. Experience which includes real estate financing, commercial asset management or commercial mortgage banking is highly desirable. Minimum requirements include a Bachelor's degree, a minimum of 5 years experience in the negotiation of commercial real estate development transactions, including extensive legal and financial expertise, is required. MBA in Finance or Juris Doctorate is highly desirable. Familiarity with the use of financial analysis software such as Argus would also be an asset.
