Another function of this Section is to contribute to the federally mandated environmental review process for those projects seeking funding from the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). In this capacity, the staff of the Section prepares environmental review records of some projects seeking funding and in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). This activity is closely coordinated with the County's Office of Community and Economic Development (OCED.
