Customer Service

Customer service is available during regular business hours at our walk-up counter or by telephone. Zoning maps showing complete history from 1938 through the present are available for review at this counter. Each map represents one square mile and copies may be purchased for $27.00 each.

Copies of zoning resolutions and restrictive covenants are also maintained in this section. The property tax folio number as well as the address of the property is necessary to commence zoning research. Have this information available when calling or visiting this office.

On December 13, 2011 the Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners adopted an ordinance establishing zoning regulations to allow for mobile operations on private, improved property zoned commercial, industrial, urban center districts, and GU (where trended for industrial or commercial use). The ordinance provides a process by which a mobile operation may obtain a Certificate of Use as well as regulatory criteria for the operation of these operations.

On May 17, 2011 the Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners adopted an ordinance establishing zoning regulations to guide special events consisting of a concentration of mobile food service operators or food trucks (MOFSE) on private property in the unincorporated portion of the County. 

It requires that an annual Certificate of Use be issued for the site where the MOFSE is to be conducted.

Zoning Verification

To obtain written verification of zoning, please fill out a copy of the Zoning Verification Request form  and submit it at the Public Hearings Counter on the 11th Floor. The form will not be accepted unless it includes the property folio number and property address. The fee is $118.90 per service requested. Only one folio number will be accepted for each Zoning Verification Request Form. The fee for complex information requests will be a minimum of $356.69.
