The Danger of Candy-Like Synthetic Drugs

Community Safety Alert

The Miami-Dade Police Department (MDPD) would like to alert the community to the growing danger of synthetic drugs.  These drugs are being produced in the style of children's candy, and even being packaged similarly.

MDPD routinely identifies and monitors the spread of controlled substances, and in recent months has detected candy-like products containing the synthetic drug Ethylone, a controlled substance similar to Alpha-PVP, also known as "FLAKKA".

As public safety, especially the safety of our community's children, is always a priority for the Department, MDPD will provide a forensic expert to explain this latest danger and to answer questions from the media about FLAKKA.
