The Miami-Dade Police Department (MDPD) announces its support for, and participation in, the annual National Night Out, which takes place tomorrow, Tuesday August 2.
The mission of the National Night Out campaign is to build partnerships between law enforcement officers and the communities they serve, as well as to promote neighborhood camaraderie, with a view to making neighborhoods safer.
MDPD believes that with law enforcement officers and members of the community working together, this mission can be achieved.
From 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. tomorrow, residents are encouraged to lock their doors, turn on their porch lights and spend the evening outside with neighbors and law enforcement personnel.
Miami-Dade County residents are being encouraged to join the more than 38-million people in more that 16-thousand communities across the United States, U.S. territories and Canada, expected to participate in this campaign.
