Maintaining a strong commitment to public safety, Commissioner Sally Heyman is announcing a new protection device for law enforcement, which will assist with responding to special calls for service and Corrections personnel handling violent confrontations. Commissioner Sally Heyman will be joined by public safety and corrections officials and the Deputy Consul General of Israel to discuss and demonstrate how this Protective Enhancement Gear (PEG) works.
"We learned about this innovative gear while in Israel meeting on public safety issues,” said Commissioner Heyman, who went on the trip with Miami-Dade Police Department (MDPD) Assistant Director Rosanna Cordero-Stutz. “We came back with advanced cyber security technology and protective enhancement gear (PEG). We will be the first in the United States to have this gear.”
Law enforcement deals with volatile and dangerous situations. This equipment will benefit the safety of the public and law enforcement when officers respond to calls.
