The Miami-Dade Police Department (MDPD), Investiture Ceremony for Director Alfredo Ramirez III, will take place at the University of Miami, Miami Herbert Business School, Storer Auditorium, on Friday, February 21, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. where he will be sworn into office by retired Circuit Court Judge, the Honorable Israel U. Reyes, in the presence of family, fellow officers, past MDPD Directors, and the community. On January 13, 2020, Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez announced his selection, of then Deputy Director Ramirez, to be the Director of MDPD. The Board of County Commissioners unanimously confirmed the Mayor's selection on January 22, 2020. “It is my great pleasure to recognize the exceptional merit and commitment of Alfredo Ramirez, as we celebrate his formal investiture as Director of the Miami-Dade Police Department,” said Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez. “Director Ramirez has earned the trust and respect of his colleagues and our community, and I am confident that he will lead with the integrity and courage he has consistently displayed throughout his years in the department.” Please join us as Director Ramirez is sworn into office to lead one of the largest police departments in the United States.
