Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches Mobile Camp

The Miami-Dade Police Department (MDPD) has once again joined with the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches to bring its mobile summer camp to Miami-Dade County.  Approximately 40 participating campers have been preselected through the MDPD Youth Outreach Unit (YOU) Program.  MDPD officers and camp staff will serve as mentors and provide a fun filled week, with many educational activities.  The Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches Mobile Summer Camp provides boys and girls with opportunities to try new activities, learn new skills, and allows campers to interact with law enforcement officers in a positive manner and learn that, “Law Officers are Your Friends.” They also learn valuable teamwork building activities.

MDPD Director Juan J. Perez and MR. Bill Frye, President of Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches, will be in attendance and available for interviews.

Media is welcome to attend. Interviews will be held from 10:30 a.m., - 11:00 a.m., in pavilion #2.
