MDPD Deploys Officers to Assist with Hurricane Ian Rescue Efforts

The Miami-Dade Police Department, Special Patrol Bureau, Rapid Deployment Force (RDF) will be deploying 25 Police Officers to assist those affected by Hurricane Ian on Florida's southwest coast.  The RDF is a group of personnel specializing in rapid, tactical response to include crowd management, building searches, and operation of heavy machinery and cutting instruments. They have previously deployed to Washington D.C. for the Presidential Inaugurations, the Florida Keys during Hurricane Irma, and numerous high-profile events.

"I am very proud of our brave officers who unselfishly answered the call to help those who were devastated by Hurricane Ian.  They have volunteered to leave their own families to help those in need.  We pray for their safety and all the other teams that have and will eventually deploy to assist."
