Miami-Dade Police Department Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive

This annual event brings community members together from both public and private sectors in a collaborative effort to support those families in need during the holiday season. Several local businesses, professional athletes, media personalities, The Progressive Officer’s Club, State Representative Kionne McGhee and Miami-Dade County Commissioner Dennis C. Moss have joined the partnership to make this event a great success.

This campaign will provide over 500 needy families throughout the South Dade community with Thanksgiving baskets containing turkeys and non perishable canned food items. This campaign was designed to serve elderly individuals who are struggling to survive on a severely limited, fixed income, single parents who are having a difficult time making ends meet and those who are just simply financially incapable of enjoying the festive nature of this holiday season.

Our mission is not only to promote a safe and secure environment for the citizens of Miami-Dade County but to also make every attempt to improve the quality of life for those that are less fortunate. We are excited to be in a position to put smiles on the faces of these needy families by helping to put a hearty meal on the dinner table
