North-end Street Violence Task Force

Police Departments Join Forces To Combat Street Violence

On November 25, 2013, the Miami-Dade Police Department (MDPD) implemented the North-end Street Violence Task Force (NSVTF). This task force was created to address the rising number of violent crimes being committed in the north end of Miami-Dade County (MDC). The NSVTF is comprised of members from multiple departmental elements working collaboratively in a team setting with the sole objective of combatting gun violence in northern MDC.

With incidents occurring through multiple jurisdictions, the NSVTF developed partnerships with several municipal and federal law enforcement agencies. Recently a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the MDPD and The City of Miami Police Department.

MDPD Director J.D. Patterson, along with City of Miami Police Department Chief Rodolfo Llanes will announce the progress of the NSVTF since its implementation at the following press conference.
