In an ongoing outreach effort to assist residents in its jurisdiction, the Miami-Dade Police Department’s Northside District will this Friday, April 15, undertake another Home Beautification Project.
Officers of the District’s Community Oriented Policing (COP) Unit will paint, landscape and undertake other general repairs to the home where 72-year old retiree, Mrs. Betty Lowery, has resided for more than 20 years. The home has fallen into disrepair in recent years because of health and financial difficulties Mrs. Lowery has experienced.
Northside Major, Ricky Carter, who has spearheaded the Home Beautification Project, says “the idea is to make Mrs. Lowery’s home as beautiful as when she first received the keys.”
In addition to fixing up the home, the COP Unit is working with MDPD’s Special Victims Bureau, in an effort to mobilize resources to assist Mrs. Lowery.
This is Northside’s second Home Beautification Project.
Media is welcome to attend.
