The Miami-Dade Police Department, Traffic Homicide Unit, is investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian.
According to investigators, 29 year-old Freddy Sanchez was struck and killed by a silver Nissan Maxima on Wednesday, September 25 at 8:00 p.m., while he was crossing NW 79th street in the 1000 block. The driver did not stop to render aid and did not call 911 for assistance. Despite the life-saving efforts of medical personnel, Mr. Sanchez died a week later as a result of his injuries.
Traffic Homicide detectives will be at the intersection of NW 79th street and the 1000 block handing out flyers, seeking additional information on this case.
