Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Campaign |

The Miami-Dade Police Department has been awarded a contract from the Florida Department of Transportation, through the University of North Florida, to conduct high visibility, education, and enforcement in the highest areas where traffic crashes occur, which results in serious and fatal injuries to pedestrians and bicyclist. During the safety campaign, officers from the Motorcycle Unit will conduct on-street education, enforcement operations, and distribution of educational materials to the public. The main objective of this effort is to mitigate crashes by increasing awareness of, and compliance with, traffic laws that protect the safety of pedestrians and bicyclist in Miami-Dade County.
