Mr. Bernard Sprecher, a U.S. Army and World War II veteran as well as 15-year member of the Miami-Dade Police Department’s Citizen Volunteer Program, will be awarded a Quilt of Valor during a press conference in the Fred Taylor Headquarters Building.
Working alongside the Quilt of Valor Foundation, volunteers from the Quilt Guild By the Sea, handcraft these unique quilts to honor veterans as part of a national grassroots community service effort. Quilts are awarded as a tangible reminder of America’s appreciation and gratitude for the service of returning service men and women affected by war. As of July 2014, there have been over 103,000 quilts awarded to service members/veterans as a token of appreciation that unequivocally states, “Thank you for your service, sacrifice, and valor.”
Media is welcome to attend.
