Each year, members of this community have their lives changed forever by crime. They are our family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues. As part of the 2014 National Crime Victims' Rights Week, the Miami-Dade Police Department, in conjunction with the Office for Victims of Crime, will host a community awareness project. This event seeks to raise awareness of the resources available to victims of crimes and support crime victims, their families, and the community. Other participating agencies will include: Miami-Dade Office of the State Attorney’s Domestic Violence Division, Community Resource Division, and Child Support Division, as well as Kristi House Child Advocacy Center, the United States Postal Inspection Service, Survivors’ Pathway, the Community Action and Human Services Department, the City of Miami Police Department, Coral Gables Police Department, Homestead Police Department, Trauma Resolution Center, The Lodge, and Citizens’ Crime Watch of Miami-Dade County.
