National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week Event

“The week of Sunday, April 13 – Saturday, April 19, 2014, is National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.  During this time, we are afforded the opportunity to honor our Nation’s public safety dispatchers and call takers and reflect on their role as the first, first responders.  They are the invisible, courageous, professional voices on the other end of radio transmissions and 911 calls for service.” –J.D. Patterson, Director

Throughout the year, our public safety telecommunicators work tirelessly to assist the citizens, visitors, and first responders of Miami-Dade County and its municipalities. As a part of this week, the Miami-Dade Police Department Communications Bureau will be providing a tour of their new Integrated Command Facility (ICF). The ICF tour will also include interviews with police complaint officers and police dispatchers who will discuss their field of work and pass on real-life experiences from their job.

The media is welcome to attend.
