Traffic Enforcement

In keeping with our mission to promote the safe and expeditious flow of traffic, the Miami-Dade Police Department (MDPD) will be conducting traffic enforcement in areas of concern that have been identified by members of our community, via polls that were recently conducted on our NextDoor social media platform.  During this enforcement effort, Miami-Dade police officers will conduct traffic stops for violations observed throughout the identified areas of concern.   Through a partnership with the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB), NICB investigators will be available throughout the enforcement period to verify the validity of insurance cards, using their databases to verify policies.  Motorists are reminded that presenting fictitious or fraudulent proof of motor vehicle insurance documents is a felony of the third degree, punishable by up to five years in prison.

The use of fictitious or fraudulent insurance cards adversely affects all drivers in the State of Florida. Crashes involving uninsured motorists result in expenses that are passed on to lawfully insured motorist, through out-of-pocket expenses or higher insurance rates to recover losses.

The MDPD remains committed to the protection of residents and visitors of Miami-Dade County.
