According to investigators, at approximately 9:07 p.m., a City of Sweetwater Police Officer requested the assistance of the Miami-Dade Police Department (MDPD). The officer advised that there was a large crowd of people running toward the exits, screaming that shots were being fired. Resources from MDPD, along with neighboring police agencies immediately responded. An outer perimeter of the mall was established, and an evacuation was initiated. The MDPD Special Response Team and K-9 Unit conducted a thorough search of Dolphin Mall. At the moment no scene has been located, and no gunshot victims have been reported. Dolphin Mall will continue normal business operations.
