Detectives of the Miami-Dade Police Department's South District are seeking the assitance of the community in identifying and/or locating the person who last night shot a 16 year old female.
Shortly after 1:45a.m. in the morning, officers responded to a banquet hall at 18901 SW 106 Avenue after receiving a call of shots fired.
According to investigators, Joena Riley was leaving a party when she saw a group of people fighting in the parking lot. She continued walking, and as she was crossing the street, heard multiple gunshots and immediatley collapsed realizing she had been struck. Ms. Riley suffered a gunshot wound to the hip.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue airlifted her to Kendall Regional Hosptial in critical but stable condition.
A motive is unknown at this time. The investigation continues.
