Need to Locate

Young Male Shot In The Middle of A Court Yard


(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 

The Miami-Dade Police Department, Northside District, is investigating a shooting that occurred in a local apartment complex.

According to investigators, multiple males were gathered in the courtyard of the apartment complex when an argument escalated and a male was shot in the chest. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded to the scene and transported the male to JMH Ryder Trauma Center.  After receiving medical attention, the victim was subsequently released. None of the other males in the group were injured during the incident. Investigators continued to follow all leads and were able to identify the shooter as 18 year-old, Willie Payne. Mr. Payne fled the scene and remains at large.

The apartment complex surveillance cameras captured the incident and image of Willie Payne and detectives are seeking the assistance of the community in locating him.  Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Willie Payne, is urged to contact Crimestoppers at (305) 471 - TIPS (8477).
